Email and Google Wave were neck and neck both with 30%, Email beating out Wave by a mere 16 votes—0.003% of the vote. One of the interesting aspects of that near-tie is that one of Google Wave’s goals is to replace email as a more effective collaborative tool but, as we mentioned in the Hive Five, email has been around for over 40 years and people are extremely comfortable using it.
Following email and Google wave, was Google Docs with 18% of the vote, Microsoft Office SharePoint with 9%, and Basecamp with 6%. Check out the full Hive Five for additional information. Have an idea for a Hive Five? Send and email to tips @ lifehacker.com with “Hive Five” in the subject line.
